The Big Bang 2012

The Big Bang team would like to invite you to submit an activity for The Big Bang 2012.

The Fair will take place at The NEC in Birmingham from 15th -17th March 2012 and with more showfloor space and extra workshop and theatre rooms, it promises to be the best Big Bang yet!

The Big Bang 2011 was a huge success with more than 29,000 visitors over the three days, a 6000 people increase from 2010! With over 110 organisations from across the private, public and voluntary sectors, and reaching out to schools and students across the UK, The Big Bang represents a true partnership of the UK’s science and engineering communities. Each year the event aims to engage and inspire young people through interactive and engaging activities, workshops and shows, and in 2011, the headline acts included Sky 1’s Brainiac Live!, BBC’s Bang Goes the Theory, The Lloyd’s Register Educational Trust’s Alphabeat show, and the BBC’s Wallace & Gromit ‘World of Invention’ roadshow. The Big Bang also hosts the finals of the National Science & Engineering Competition, which this year saw 303 competitors presenting 155 award-winning science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) projects. Experience The Big Bang 2011 here.

Exhibiting at The Big Bang 2012 will allow your organisation exposure to over 35,000 expected visitors, including 25,000 young people so is an excellent opportunity to reach out and inspire the UK’s future young scientists and engineers.

Attached is a document offering advice about submitting an activity along with sample event services order forms to allow you to budget your presence at the event. Once you have read this, please follow this link to complete the submission form http://www.thebigbangfair.co.uk/addactivity. A full exhibitors manual with confirmed 2012 prices will be available in September. This year, we will be assessing general activity submissions as they are submitted, so the sooner you submit your activity, the more likely you are to be allocated the space you request if your submission is successful.

If you have any questions regarding the process or The Big Bang then please email Georgina Goodman, Event Manager – ggoodman@engineeringuk.com, or call 020 3206 0443.
