Morgan LIFEcar

Birmingham City University has achieved great success in low carbon research through Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs).

Notably, BCU worked with legendary car manufacturer Morgan Motor Company and also QinetiQ, one of Europe’s largest science and technology solutions companies.

This successful KTP saw an Associate, Matthew Humphries, work to create a highly effective controlled design process, which led to the creation of innovative concept and production vehicles such as Morgan AeroMax and Morgan LIFEcar. The Morgan LIFEcar (LIghtweight Fuel Efficient Car) is a fuel cell-powered electric vehicle project, with the aim to deliver a sports car that was both environmentally responsible, without losing out on performance.
