Working Groups

A number of working groups have been set up to bring together experts in specific areas to inform and direct the development of projects and activities associated with Science City

  • Communications

    This group is developing the communications strategy for Science City and exploring exciting new media such as broadband TV.
  • Digital

    This group focuses on the opportunities provided both by new content and new infrastructure. Birmingham and the West Midlands are rich in areas such as wireless technologies and serious games expertise which demonstrator projects aim fully to utilise
  • Innovative Healthcare

    Their aim is to build on the great strengths in Birmingham and the West Midlands across all areas of healthcare.
  • Low Carbon

    The aspiration of Birmingham Science City is to create a low carbon city. Individual strengths such as those in fuel cells, biogas from waste, energy efficiency, large wind turbines and other areas will be used to make this aspiration a reality, with Science City.
  • Procurement

    This working group draws together expertise in procurement.
